Detailed rating for pizza: 3.5⭐ But the tiramisu is 5⭐ I think this establishment needs no introduction to the locals as it has been around for yonks. I have not been back for more than a decade (or more) and I had wanted to let Boo try this angmoh pizza place so we decided to go. The sign that greets you at the door is quite hostile and part of me wanted to turn back (something stern about waiting to be seated). Perhaps a legacy from before when there was no possibility of being seated immediately..? As it was, we were able to find seats as soon as we entered, though it was relatively packed for 630pm. Self-service meant either ordering at the counter or with the QR but to pay at the counter before food is served. The menu had a lot of pork options and a vegetarian option as well. We went for the half/half option being one half Herby Cheese and one half Hog Extreme. The owner has relinquished his chef role to the new generation and the new generation partied like it was 2000 again. A lot of laughing, joking around, chitchatting, pushing, shoving, dropping stuff amidst the food preparation taking place. I was very torn looking at it as I can’t remember the last time that I had seen young people being this motivated or happy at work and I was truly happy for them; the other part of me wondered how good can the pizza truly be given the gaiety that was going on. Also we chose the wrong table as the traffic going in and out from behind the counter was quite considerable- not all due to the necessity to work. The establishment also functions on true efficiency meaning no glasses/cups aside from the cutlery and serving plates that had to be used. We had to drink from the same mineral water bottle as we were sharing. If you ordered a coke, it would be drinking from the can directly. Serviette was à la 99speedmart. The pizza was unfortunately a letdown for us. The edges were too burnt or charred (as the head server informed me) and I usually love the burnt bits but these were too much for me. The Herby Cheese was more to my liking as compared to the Hog Extreme. When I was asked for feedback if the pizza was ok, I did remark that the edges were a bit too burnt for my liking, whereupon I was corrected by the head server that it was normal for it to be this charred. (Why ask for feedback when feedback is not accepted? you might be better off not asking for feedback.) After the empty pan was whisked off the table (the table service for this part was exceptionally efficient), the tiramisu (that was noted to be served later) was unfortunately not forthcoming. Having to flag a young server down to ask for it, I could only smile mirthlessly when I said “yes, we would like for the tiramisu to be served now”.. pray tell when else should it be served now that the pizza has been consumed..? But the one thing that truly saved the day was the tiramisu. Truly truly sublime. The texture was solid even though it was mostly soft and the alcohol was not overpowering.

Food. Fantastic pizzas, made fresh in front of you. I'm not really a big fan of pizzas (though my husband is) but I am such a huge fan of their Peruvian pasta (non-vegetarian version). It's slightly spicy and packed full of flavour, with a generous helping of meats and other condiments. Their tiramisu is made with three types of alcohol - so, so tasty if that's something you love. I come here for their boozy tiramisu and Peruvian pasta. That's it haha. Price. Not cheap but worth every penny. Pizza portions are big. Check the photo of my receipt for reference. Service. The owner is really friendly and goes about greeting you and making you feel welcome. The staff? Not quite so. They probably need a better queue system to identify who arrived first. We were first in line but we were told to wait as it was before opening time ie 5:30pm. We were okay with that but a group that came later were served first. It was still early with lots of seats so we let it slide, but just something to bear in mind. Ambience. Very cosy little restaurant but it can get a bit noisy if it's busy as the place is small. Note : Come early if you don't want to queue. Parking may be an issue on weekends but not on weekdays. Note v2 : Ignore the half eaten parts of the food. Forgot to take photos when the food arrived as we were really hungry haha.

The best pizza place in Malaysia that I know of. Their pizza is perfectly cooked (with char on the crust), just the way it should be. And pricing is reasonable too, considering the size of their pizza, they're 14 inches. Highly recommend their bacon & eggs, the flavour matches each other nicely. Also ordered the blue cheese for our other half (we ordered half & half), and the taste of the blue cheese was really strong. If you love blue cheese, it'll be right for you, if you don't, I'll suggest to avoid it. Their tiramisu is very nice too, the perfect desert right after the pizza! Definitely a place worth visiting if you love pizza, or if you're around this area.

Absolutely delicious pizza, nicely baked with high quality ingredients. The owner is friendly, though a bit assertive, is great in explanation what to expect and what is expected as well. Pizza is made fresh and cooked to order, so expect the usual wait. The tiramisu and especially the brownie and ice cream, are to die for. I'll definitely return whenever I'm in Ipoh from now on.

Food 3.8/5 Pizzas and the meatball spaghetti were decent. Many flavours to choose from. Service 5/5 The young Indian waiter was very friendly, smiley and helped us understand the various items on the menu and gave his recommendations. Have never met anyone in the F&B who is so enthusiastic, loving his work and made us feel so welcomed. Truly a treasure to the establishment. The other staff were friendly and helpful as well. Ambience 3/5 Place is nicely set up to mirror an American eatery. Generally clean and comfortable place. However the noise and music levels were on the high side making conversation difficult. Location 4/5 Parking available near the restaurant. The signage needs to be replaced for better visibility. Value for money 3.8/5 Pricing is on the high side but given the generous portion, it seems reasonable.

Superbly good pizza and cozy pizzeria makes for a divine dining experience! Had the following menu item based on recommendations from the owner: - Peruvian Bacon Italian Sausage - SMP - Bacon and egg - Margherita - Tiramisu Of which the first one stood out because it was unique. All of which were fantastic, especially those with sausages and meatballs which are house made. Tiramisu is among the best I have ever had - owner mentioned that it is made with different mix of alcohol. Had the whiskey, rum and irish cream version when I was there - it was such a good combination, you can taste all 3 of the alcohol layers with the light cream accompanied by the bitterness of the cocoa powder. It was the perfect end to the meal. I would definitely make this a mandatory stop whenever I am in Ipoh! If you see this review and ponder if you should dine here, take it as a sign to pay it a visit! Also note that you cannot bring your own drink or water if you dine there, drinking your own water should be allowed in my opinion. Small issue if you can hold off your thirst.

My 2 kids, wife & I enjoyed the pizzas so much, we were here 2 nights in a row during our visit to Ipoh. This place is a true hidden gem in Ipoh. Actually the whole of Malaysia, if you ask me. The pizzas are that good! Between Bacon and Eggs, SMP, The Early Bird & Peruvian pizzas, we really couldn't decide which we like more because they were all so darn good. The tiramisu was one of the strongest I've ever had and also one of the very best. The brownie a la mode was so sinful and decadently good, we attacked it like a pack of hungry vultures and polished it off in 2 minutes....and proceeded to order another The music was loud but I really enjoyed the playlist of the very best pop rock hits from the 90's and naughties. If we come back to Ipoh, this pizzeria is the one place I'm making a beeline for, maybe even before I check into my hotel!

Served very good pizza full of sauce, cheese and other condiments. Woodfire cooked so all pizza have this smoky flavour that enhances the taste. Their dessert specialty is their tiramisu that is drizzled with alcohol depending on the day. Usually its Baileys, Dark Rum and Absolute Vodka. Seating: Often times you need to be waited to be seated. You can leave a phone number for them to call you when a table is ready. The place is busy almost every dinner so it is expected. Parking: Nearby have other cafés so it is hard to find parking. Weekends are a nightmare. Overall, I'd come here everytime when I crave a good pizza. Friendly boss too!
